MGB – TR6 Wiper Wheelboxes – made in England
After a few years of waiting, we now have a good supply of UK manufactured wiper wheelboxes
I shouldn’t say it, but I’m glad that these aren’t some aftermarket crap, made “somewhere else”.
Bad enough that you have to crawl up under your dashboard to install them. At least they are proper parts that will fit and actually work…
The wiper wheelboxes are driven by the “rack-cable” which is fastened to the wiper motor. The rack-cable slides back and forth inside a couple of pieces of tubing, which are clamped together, between each wheelbox, and the wiper motor on one end.
As time goes on, things get worn out. The rack cable may slip in the wheelbox(s). This will cause the wiper movement to become erratic (kinda like me). In other cases, the rack cable can become jammed up, and not able to move at all. A jammed wiper assembly will eventually burn out your wiper motor. If you are an unlucky person, it can burn out your wiring harness too…
We have brand new wheelboxes in stock now. MGBs use three of them.
TR6s use two.
