MGB Body Rubber & Seals
Rubber parts deteriorate over time. You can be sure that fourty year old rubber parts are well past their prime!
MGB Trunk Seals
Did you ever wonder why there was so much dust in your trunk? Often, it’s because the rubber trunk seal is missing or damaged. The seal is soft rubber. As it gets older and “past its prime”, it no longer seals the trunk lid effectively. The gap that results allows road dirt and water to get into the trunk. The road dirt makes an ugly mess while the water rots out your trunk floor and the lower extremities of the back fenders!
There are two different versions of trunk seal used on the MGB.
Cars from 1963September 1976 use a seal that mounts on the trunk lid. The seal actually pushes into a slotted channel around the outer edge of the lid.
Cars from October 19761980 use a seal that mounts on the car body. This later seal has a metal clip moulded into the rubber. It simply pushes onto the exposed flange around the trunk lid opening in the body.
We have both seals on sale now.
